World of Zing secures new accounts

24th May, 2021 by Kate Malczewski

London-based pre-batched cocktail specialist World of Zing has taken on eight new accounts, including countryside hotel chain The Pig.

The bottled cocktail company will also provide its drinks to the Marylebone hotel Treehouse, Goodwood Hotel in Chichester, Champneys spa resorts, Thwaites hotels, Sri Lankan eatery Kolamba and burger restaurants 7Bone and Patty & Bun.

According to Pritesh Mody, who founded World of Zing in 2014, the new business is a welcome change of pace following a difficult year.

“After taking a huge hit in sales at the beginning of the pandemic, we couldn’t be happier to share this news,” he said. “It is an honour to be able to produce innovative, pre-batched cocktails for so many well respected hospitality operators.”

World of Zing supplies cocktails to more than 250 sites across 20 hospitality groups. The company has previously created bottled cocktail offerings for London hotels such as The Langham and the Lincoln Plaza and designed menus for restaurants including UK chains Rosa’s Thai Café and Carluccio’s.

Mody explained the appeal of pre-batched cocktails in 2019, citing speed of serve and consistency as major benefits: “Consumers want cocktails more than ever. So whether a consumer turns up at 2pm on a Tuesday or 9pm on a Friday night, the main bartender doesn’t need to be onsite for that consumer to get the same high-quality cocktail experience.

“In the drinks industry in particular, staff are so transient and move so quickly, and the quality depletes,” he said. “And for many big groups, it’s all about numbers and spreadsheets, and we provide the benefit of slotting straight in and the operator knows exactly where they sit financially with their cocktail offering.”
